WHO CARES ABOUT WORLD TOILET DAY?

1 in 3 people in the world doesn't have access to a sanitary toilet. That shit cray.
WaterAid America is a nonprofit focused on providing clean water and sanitation to those in need.
In the UN, World Toilet Day is a day of awareness for this global crisis—but in the US, no one really knows about it.

SO, ON WORLD TOILET DAY, WE ASKED THE INTERNET TO #GIVEASHIT

IT STARTED WITH AN APP THAT LET EVERYONE CREATE THEIR OWN POOP EMOJIs,
SHARE THEM TO RAISE AWARENESS AND DONATE TO THE CAUSE.

TO SPREAD THE WORD, WE ENLISTED THE INTERNET'S TOP CREATORS
and supplied them with personalized poops to share on social media.

(along with a swag pack and instructions on how to talk about World Toilet Day)

they shared with millions of their followers

WHO GAVE THOUSANDS OF SHITS OF THEIR OWN

WHICH BRINGS US TO THE shit show

We took over a gallery in the Lower East Side where 30+ artists showcased pieces interpreting the issue.

The campaign resulted in
4469 PARTICIPANTS,
14.5 MILLION SOCIAL media IMPRESSIONS,
237 MILLION VIEWS IN THE PRESS
and unprecedented awareness
for WaterAid america and world toilet day.
